R400 per hunter, non-hunter and/or camper per night. It is payable in advance in order to secure a booking.
There is a hunting cottage with three bedrooms, each furnished with two army type beds. There is also a rondavel with two beds and a Lapa. Eight people can therefore be accommodated. There is, however, no bedding over and above mattresses and guests are expected to bring their own bedding such as a sleeping bag or a duvet and a cushion. The kitchen is fully equipped at a basic level.
There is running water in the kitchen and a bathroom with a flushing toilet, basin and shower. Guests are requested to bring their own towels, extra toilet paper, soap and washing liquid. No Eskom electricity is on the farm, but the cottage is equipped with solar lights with a facility to charge cellphones, a gas stove and a gas fridge/freezer combination. The gas consumption is included in the day fee. There are two rifle safes.
Day visitors and additional hunters must make prior arrangements for access to the property. The gates will otherwise be closed and locked. To avoid noisy generators an industrial cold room was erected on the neighbouring farm of Beyers and Susan van der Westhuizen. Security protocol necessitates prior arrangements for access to any neighbouring farm or to cross any game fence.
Please consider in advance how you intend to transport carcasses home and make sure you have the appropriate packaging material with you.
The cleaning lady’s name is Anikie. She will do her rounds once a day to wash your dishes and clean the Lapa at an additional cost of R150 per day. You are welcome to leave her a tip as well.
Tap water is clean and drinkable but not so palatable. Hot water comes from a donkey which heats up quickly. Please endeavour to make a fire in it only when you need hot water and not as a result of boredom. Use firewood sparingly at all times.
Labour over weekends is often a problem. Should farm labourers assist you with tracking and skinning outside normal working hours, then they will be remunerated by the owner at overtime rates. Should you wish to tip them, you are kindly requested to discuss the reasonability thereof with the owner. Their assistance is otherwise included in the day fee.
