About Hunting

The farm offers exceptional trophy animals, especially impala and kudu in their natural environment.

No liquor is allowed to be consumed on any vehicle while firearms are handled. Not more than four hunters shall be allowed in the veld at any given point in time. The hunter accepts ultimate responsibility for the age and/or gender of an animal. Basic firearm safety applies: No loaded firearms shall be allowed on a vehicle or inside a building or Lapa. Please ensure that access gates remain closed. Firewood and braai facilities are provided for a braai and hot water purposes alone. Please only make a fire for a braai and not as a result of boredom while sitting in the camp in the daytime. No firewood may be picked up in the veld. It is provided at the camp for your convenience. No driving around or hunting at night is allowed. The hunting season begins in May and ends at the end of July. No female animals may be hunted outside the hunting season. Hunters are encouraged to hone their shooting skills elsewhere and not on the farm. This includes sighting in of rifles. There is a shooting range on your way to the farm next to the Beska bridge 18km from the farm. Please don’t disturb the sound of the bush: No loud music at the campsite.

Transport permits and licencing

Game is hunted on this property with the owner’s consent pursuant to an exemption permit issued by the relevant authorities.  Game is hunted on the farm and the meat and/or trophies may only be removed by a person holding a letter of consent which is signed by the owner.

Special permits need to be issued by the owner for the transport of the meat of warthog and bushpig.  It is not necessary for the hunter to obtain permits or hunting licences prior to the hunt, except in instances where the protected game is to be hunted.

We are not at all impressed by the risky head and neck shots on any antelope. The minimum recommended calibre for hunting small antelope on this farm is 6,5mm – with core bonded bullets. If you are serious about shooting bigger game such as eland then bring a suitable rifle with premium bullets.
